I will forget

I will forget... I will forget...
I swear to you I will forget.
Even if my whole being,
Wants to remember you,
I swear to you I will forget.

I will forget... but how can I forget?
When I wake in the morning
Longing for my dreams,
When I go to bed at night
Yearning for your touch?

I will forget the warmth you brought into my life
Forget the love I saw burning in your eyes
Or was it just a mere reflection of mine?
Forget the glimpses that caught my eye,
As you opened new doors for me.

Life will go on, I will forget,
Forget how, for a while,
You were the other half of me.
How your arms used to calm my fears,
How your hands raised my desire to new heights.

The walls of my life are closing in on me,
The well of my tears is slowly drying up,
My heart is numb, and my world is cold
My eyes can’t tell if its day or night,
If I lay still, I will forget.
