He called to her and said, "Goodbye."
She couldn't breath, she couldn't cry.
He told her that the day had come.
He'd gone and found another one.
She stood transfixed and stared at him.
Wondering when did it all begin?
When did the words of love and lust,
turn into to swirls of rolling dust?
He grabbed the door and turned to go.
She looked to him and begged him, "No!"
He only sighed with glaze filled eyes,
and told her not to even try.
She shook with fear and tears did fall.
Her knees felt weak, as he felt tall.
The ground and her met that night,
as he took off for great delights.
She didn't move that night or day.
Her body was weak, her heart now slay.
With trembling legs she stands again.
To scared to let another in.
When is the time she asks herself,
to come away from the empty shelf?
To seek a new place to rest,
one where she'll be the very best.
In time she'll take that starting leap.
Allow her body to be complete.
Until that moment, she sits and waits.
Trying to cope with all she hates.
