the secret things we mention
you say they scare you sometimes
and it makes you shake to know
that I would think that way too

you say you only go there
in your wicked dreams
and you wake up so wet
with desire and fear and ache

and no one has ever been there
when you woke up that way
especially smiling with want
and with recognition in their eyes

I hear the tremble in your voice
as you ask me hint questions
just to see if I am real
and if I really want to do those things

and be alone with you after in those dreams
