In the darkness she sits
and waits for her lover to come to her.
He told her to be silent and still,
to blend into the night.
Not knowing what she waits for.
She has yet to see his image,
only knowing his touch.
Her lover she has never seen.
He comes to her only in darkness
wrapped up in the thick black sky
of a cold winter's eve.
She shivers silently in the cold.
His arms embrace her from behind.
She leans back into his embrace.
He whispers softly to her
needing her assent to take her with him.
She replies yes on a sigh.
His pale hands reach for her throat.
He tilts her head back
exposing the soft skin of her jugular.
His smile flashes in the dark
teeth almost glowing in the moonlight.
He gives her no warning
but swoops in soundlessly
and fastens his lips tightly to her throat,
sinking his teeth into her flesh.
Her eyes narrow as she hisses in pleasure.
He groans as her blood flows down his throat.
She arches back to give him more
enjoying the exquisite pain he's given her,
her blood, her life infusing him.
The flow slows to a mere trickle.
Her heart slows its beat.
He releases her from his deathly grip.
His teeth slowly exit her flesh
just as her eyes sink closed
and her heart stops its cadence.
He lays her down beside him.
Then sits silently there
waiting patiently for his lover to come back.
She will rise and return to him
this night, this cold, dark eve.
She will rise with a thirst and a hunger ---
a thirst for blood and hunger for him.
He has given her the dream she has always held
fulfilled the craving she never knew
she held until him.
Her thirst will be unquenchable
her hunger insatiable.
She is his, and he is hers.
They are eternal.
Her eyes open slowly
and a smile creases her mouth.
They get up and embrace once more
then begin their search for the next kiss.
