I called last night at the edge of twilight
Got an answering machine instead of you
Where I left my fleeting message of adieux

Hope you forgive me for my opaque exit
But I've been hanging on this phone too long
Trying to end this storm within the calm

Tell you how I finally must move on
To travel down the lonely path of honesty
Where I can find the truth within the lies

Lies that were cut from cruel words
Lies that left deep emotional scars
Lies that kept tearing us apart

After all these violent lies disappear
I want to feel your gaze upon my face
Your breath between my fingertips
Your kiss upon my wanton lips
I want to taste your fleshbound sins

I will surely miss you while I'm gone
Miss the fiery spark of your tongue
That lit passions beneath my skin

I'll be adrift without your embrace
On dark nights overcast with confusion
When I need a lover's refuge to crawl into

When all seems lost and without hope
Making me forget that any good exists
As I sift through languid quixotic words

Words that were cut from cruel lies
Words that left deep emotional scars
Words that kept tearing us apart

After all these violent lies disappear
I want to feel your gaze upon my face
Your breath between my fingertips
Your kiss upon my wanton lips
I want to taste your fleshbound sins

As I search deep within my questioning soul
For answers that will consummate the truth
Bring our relationship back to full fruition

Bring us back together once again
Two disjoined souls entwined as one
Like when we met under random skies

Which brings me to this question
When did our love become obscured
By ambiguous truths within the lies

Lies that were cut from cruel words
Lies that left deep emotional scars
Lies that kept tearing us apart

After all these violent lies disappear
I want to feel your gaze upon my face
Your breath between my fingertips
Your kiss upon my wanton lips
I want to taste your fleshbound sins

As I dive deeper into my unbound life
I'll miss your fervent breath upon my lips
Your carnal touch upon my wanton skin

Though before I crawl back on hands and knees
To make love to you on our bed of conciliation
I will wait until truth becomes lucid like water

I will deny my untold self of your love
Until my hands stop throwing caustic stones
That bruise your heart with embittered words

Words that were cut from cruel lies
Words that left deep emotional scars
Words that kept tearing us apart

After all these violent lies disappear
I want to feel your gaze upon my face
Your breath between my fingertips
Your kiss upon my wanton lips
I want to taste your fleshbound sins

Its easy....

If you want to comeback, you have to go first.

~~

Chased away by lies but already wanting to return and fix the problem.
