Life Too Powerful

Life is sometimes too powerful
       tragedies too profound
Each one death is mourned
       as if the only death found
Could not all deaths be organized
       by the Almighty
       should one exist
To take place in the same week or day?
       so we might persist
       to mourn them in one group
       respectfully in a stadium
       or
       perhaps while dancing at the Palladium
But to have to mourn them one by one
       certainly not a bit of fun
Likewise, if this reasoning holds
Instead of birth announcements to be read
I suggest that obituaries are run instead
AT the TIME of BIRTH!
Detailing what a person will accomplish
       what school he/she will attend
       the names of friends
       family and children
       success or failure
       marriage and divorce
likewise
       if he/she will someday ride a horse
and of course the day of demise
       naturally as life flies
Thus no surprises or shocks
       except a curiosity to see
If in truth he fulfills the wording
       of the birth o.b. or she
I only long for the perfect world
       where life is lived to the fullest
       where tragedy and death do not vex
Alas, if life must be lived as it has gone
Please give me strength to carry on!
