Lost?

If something you had
now becomes lost,
what would you do?
What would it cost?

If something is lost
that you never had,
should you be happy?
Or should you be sad?

If something is lost
and you didn't know,
how much of your grief
is simply for show?

I have lost something,
not to be found.
And I simply feel,
as if I have drowned.
