As in a flowing river,
Two sticks fall together
And are joined for a while,
But in course of time they separate,
Never to be joined again.
So is love for the lost.

They did not arrange to be joined,
Nor un-joined.
One may want
One may not
But the result is the same,
Longing to re-join
Or find another to join with
On the endless stream of life.

So many twigs, flowers, leaves
Flowing alongside each other,
Down mountains, hills, falls,
Through valleys, woods and field.
Countless joining and separation
For those who hanker for love.

From the tree of birth
To the bosom of earth,
At death
The rushing waves carry us on and on.
Through endless experience
Of happiness, heartbreak
Ecstasy, sadness
We go on to find that
This existence cannot be free from
Desire, relationship, love.
So we flow on
Lost for love.

As a dog for its master,
A child for its mother
A lover for the beloved
The soul hankers for love
To be joined
In loving union
With another.
But as the rushing flow of desire
Cannot be stopped by any means,
So the joining always meets with separation
This is life's lesson.
The dumb tongues stuck
Unable to find the right words
To express the burning desire within.
The love that wants release
From obscurity to be declared
Boldly, my love will always be true.

But as it happens with the twigs
On the mad river of love
True union is hard to realize.
No matter how hard we try
We are not satisfied
As the tempest wreaks havoc to the
Love Lost Soul.
