  Love Unseen

My love, we met behind our masks, our roles, our nome de plume,
yet our souls revealed themselves without shame, without flaw, with truth and love.
We tried to hide our love, escape in capes, behind screens and scenes,
yet by earth below and sky above, you are my King and I am your Queen.

And through the years and miles our tribes, our trials,
stole you from my charms and the fickle finger of Fate did set up walls,
each night in dreams how real it seems you sleep here in my arms.

And as I've seen how mean life's been to take you from my arms,
the world will know someway, somehow, that our love burned brighter than the sun.
And so as the sun, too, shall not burn forever, a love can only burn while still it lives.
Farewell youth. Passion, too, must someday burn out like a dying candle's gleam,
and to know that all has been a dream. All things must pass, thy face, my love,
All things must pass, the earth, the things we made, the things we said, the things
we hoped would come to be and never did.

But despair will not suit you and never has.
Before you sleep and welcome the darkness longer than life,
think of me as your final thought and draw your final breath in my memory.
Ah, you will smile as you leave the world, as will I and we will love once more. Ah, this then is Heaven, eternity, the ever-living soul, for all has perished, save love which
never dies

Interesting

Interesing poem but did you mean for the spacing and formatting to look like that or is that something Literotica misinterpreted?
