wears a face
of apple pies,
delectable darkness.
I am concerned. I interpret the poem as suggesting that death is alluring and that life lacks instances of the delectable. Maybe I'm misunderstanding or being alarmist. I'm at a complete loss about how to react to this poem but me feelings are overwhelming.
Death holds nothing for me as substantial as darkness; death is a ceasing of all potential, of pain and suffering, of joy and ecstasy, and all the nuanced crevasses that texture the immense range of possibilities in between. Death is as cold as the emptiness of blinding white light, the state of ultimate indifference that cannot be entered even when life is spent because all action ceases at the point of death.
Other than that, from the little that I have read, I think your poems are wonderful.
Makes the poem for me. Not sure what it means ...but it makes me wonder.....
