LEMONIA (F)LEAP EDELTRAUD => HOMELESS, JOBLESS, PENNILESS

TAVERNA "THALASSOGRAFIA" (?)
MONDAY EVENING
5/5/2014

MAY RAIN

Yesterday night came that rain,
our new taverna almost flooded,
but me and Vass are both cool blooded
and took the pounding without strain.

This new setup we force to work,
that "Summer Blast" is absent here,
that much at least by now is clear,
what fine wine shall we uncork?

He cooked spaghetti with some prawns,
as every night my fears had faded,
images colourless paraded,
all of them queens but without crowns.

Oh, let those shapes come through the mist,
to entertain us with their dance,
tonight may be their only chance,
when rain stops they don't exist.

I heard each voice and each complain,
I did feel sad for a short while,
each one unique in its old style,
getting confused with that May rain.

Then I could hear an aggregate,
voices and rain, their total song,
I tried to joint, it's been so long,
I was too drunk to calculate.

Vass gave me just a funny look,
uncorking a new bottle for us,
he filled my glass, "Oh, thank you, Vass,
and by the way, you're the best cook!"
