How could it be these things that come to pass
even when I slowed down, life still moved to fast
no time to smell the roses, no time for a walk
no time we had together, no time for us to talk
in a blink of an eye it seemed that time wasn't on my side
I let those those precious moments slip because of pride
it blinded me to see what was truly worth while
it was all that we had envisioned, in her smile
one of those smiles that could light up a room
as bright as the sun, banishing all the gloom
when she smiled at me my heart would skip a beat
it made me feel as light as a feather on my feet
even when I was down, that smile brought me out again
amazing how a smile could get rid of my pain
maybe it wasn't just that smile, but the person behind
a truly wonderful woman like that was hard to find
but found her I did, but time was not my friend
I would give anything, only if to see that smiling face again.
