I don’t deserve you
and you don’t deserve me
This question that haunts me
and leaves me so empty
To ask why you’re ‘round me
and believe we’re so happy
And want to so badly,
to see what I’m feeling
and taste why I’m crying
I don’t deserve that
and you don’t deserve this
But you’re too quick to dismiss
any thought that if we kissed
The world might distinguish
that to be romance
And that would be selfish
And I don’t deserve that
and you don’t want quiet
But I’m sorry, I like it
and the fact that you fight it,
Well I just can’t buy it
but you continue despite it
And I try to relight it,
but you turn it away
And I don’t deserve that,
(so you say).
