Maybe if you knew more about me, than you would understand
Yearned from a young age to be the opposite of the sex that I am, but could never afford it

Cuts me to the bone when you make such cruel fun of me, so I deny and hide away the truth
Ramon becomes Ramona
Oh so pretty, popular and everything that I have always hungered so badly to be
Sucking up my pride
I take the daily abuse
Someday telling myself that one and all of you will come to accept me for the person that I am
Despite all your cruel words and actions I can't bring my heart to hate you
Reminding myself that maybe just maybe some of you out there are in the same boat as me
Eager but helpless to become that which your brain tells you daily you should really be
Sure that God made a mistake and misplaced your soul into the wrong body
Sure that somehow, someway life for you will get better
If I can do it, than I'm sure you can too baby loves
Never say never and never give up on your dreams
Gotta push back when they shove and spit in the face of their ignorant displays of misunderstanding

Let nothing and no one tell you that you can't be who you really wanna be
Insist upon your equal rights and someday for sure you will get them
Fight always fight
Everyday and every night until they give in to declare you to be.....

Human beings just like all the rest
Equal at long long last
Is that too much to ask?

Ladys and gentlemen of the world, I think not

Do you?

2008 Ramona Thompson

Note-For me this is a work of fiction. I was born a woman, am a woman, and love being a woman For others it is not. For others they are trapped inside of bodies that do not fit who their minds tell then they are. So please think next time before you judge. For what do you think you would do, if you were in their shoes?

Think about it. That's all I ask. Thanks and have a great day.

R.T.
