My Wait

i feel the emotions burning
deep within my chest
i feel my blood churning
deep within my breast

so many things i want to say
if only i knew how
to say them in the only way
that would pierce the here and now

my heart has been broken
so many times in the past
there is so much unspoken
but the die are cast

my soul it really soars
when my eyes see you
my heart is already yours
my soul belongs to you

but oftimes it aches alone
yearning for your sight
then the doubts take hold
and then i have to fight

to keep my love for you alive
to keep the pain at bay
to help my heart to grow and thrive
awaiting for that day

when you will knock upon my door
and i will throw it wide
to wait for you for never more
