An Eastern Water Dragon sits on a log in the middle of the creek.
It basks.
Is it smirking?
Is it smirking at me?
Can it look behind the doors in me,
See my tatty clothes?
How they hang there,
Limp and unmended,
Unamended?
I think lizards can see the holes inside of us.
And I think they laugh that humans worry about everything,
Then go back to eating crickets.
