Nightmare

Running through a forest, someone is after you
Out of breath, stumbling, don't know what to do

Your once white nightgown is dirty and torn
No help in sight, you feel terrified and forlorn

You can feel the presence that is right behind
It's pure evil, which scares you out of your mind.

Running in a frenzy as fast as you possibly can
Your hair has turned white and you've lost your tan.

Your feet are bloody and there's a slash on you face
This gloomy, haunted woodland is a frightening place

Your rags are flapping, as the monster draws near
Not able to lose it, it must be able to smell your fear

It's foul breath gets closer with every step you take
Branches hit your cold face and you end up at a lake

You're stuck and there is no way out of this disaster
The creature has cornered you, now it is the master.

As the fiend's, huge shadow over you does loom.
You can feel the terror rise with the impending doom

Afraid of what you'll have to confront as you turn.
Awake now. Who your hunter was, you'll never learn.
