You're on island time,
Won't meet no strangers
They're all friends of mine.
Don't come straight laced
leave your hair undone,
You'll find Ocracoke
is no fools no fun.
Bring a bathing suit
and sun tan lotion,
let me rub it in
prone by the ocean.
Don't bring dancing shoes
We'll hit Howard's Pub,
the joint is so full
we'll just bump and rub.
Won't find a Hilton
just knotty pine walls,
motel is jumping
dancing in the halls.
Once in your lifetime
leave your tasks undone,
You'll fine Ocracoke,
is NO FOOLS NO FUN.
I like this alot--it has a really nice rhythmic flow, and I've not been to Ocracoke, but I have been to the Outer Banks, and I feel the place in your poem. :)
