Deep chasms riven,
long steep inclines ridden,
take the hand offered
walk to the end
what would be there, many
are feared to find,
what can be there,
Save Oneself; again and anon
why are the ones alone,
when those Who abide, take?
why are ones silent ,
when Those who take, rivet?
those selfsame chasms,
built of clay,
when the flood tides arrive, do they melt away?
Take me there, I have come once before,
Take me down I wish to find,
to seek, to discover
walls are made of clay, no diamond dust this
shining in facets yet unlighted,
Deep in the bowels shines her star,
Deep in the catacombs
of His mind rest
the laurels she grew from afar
Offered and taken, riven and staked
Flies a thrush, warblers afoot,
all upside down and inside out
Yet she made sense
and
He made song
