Enchanting visions returned to me
from that girl I used to be
and the sweet-smelling aromas
of yesterday I breathe
all that the heavens has made of me.

I have trudged through the gardens of delight
full of passion, yet having to fight
the earth I have seen
milky stars swimming in my sleep
and grey storms turning my hair white.

For awhile it was okay
words would haunt me but slip away
but when I befriended my demons
and sunk to their low
they took away my music
and forever imprisoned I stay.
