(One on the shed

one on the roof)

&

What drove him to it

he couldn't quite say



(one on the car

one on the front door

two on the satellite dish)



his mother & sister

crinkled their noses



(one on the garage)



& the kids at school

pointed their fingers



(one on the back lawn)



but he couldn't

seem to stop



(two on the remote)



so after the ruins

stopped smoking



(one on the driveway)



& after the cat

stopped squirming



(one on the backdoor)



they sent him packing

to the 2nd floor

where after much

deliberation



(two on the TV screen

staring back)



he finally began

to sleep again



(three on the bedroom mirror

three on the bathroom mirror)



still



(three on the porcelain)



in the end



(two on the linoleum

two on the drywall)



they could hardly

stop watching



(two on the carpet

two on the ceiling

two on the bricks

one on the counter

two on the glass

two on the pavement

two on the curb

one on the)
