Your gestures inviting
the company of wolves.
They sniff your heat
as you pose--
placating those
who eat you whole with eyes
sharp and wanting.
The hard cider
cold, as your blue streaked lids,
speaking a secret speech only
the fairer sex understands.
Your signals are clear--
the wolves are patient.
You're detected, decoded by
salivacious tongues
hungering for their fill.
Still you sit.
cigarette in hand.
Waiting for a light.
