Here's to life:
to high calcium Tang,
to sparrow-sized pterodactyls,
to our warrior-mother sun,
to hunger: the bottom line for everyone,
to calloused, giving hands,
to the scientists in their labs, looking for angels on the heads of pins,
to broken clocks, more beautiful than before,
to heavenly eyes over the swimming pool,
to the pen whose ink has travelled through the bowels of scholarship,
to the devouring grace of African guitar,
to the endless dance of predator and prey, parasite and predator,
to primates in the kitchen passing on acquired knowledge,
to the heart-throb of the matador,
to the Zen art of brick-laying.(lol)
One must drink;
One may as well drink bravely.
