Prodigal of Blue
(Another Funk I’m In)

I can’t abide
This unwillingness
To write simple poetry
That speaks to you or me.

I try, Oh God knows!

Spend hours in books

No time for crooks
Seen on TV shows.

I scribble lines
Far more times
Than what I ever pose …

Another thought …

There, see? there it goes!

Oh well,
What the hell…
Yeah, cliché, I know.

It seems I wane
Emotions drain
Cool reason

So grim,
So very grim…

Another funk I’m in!
