Quick Thinking Sheriff!

A Yankee who was driving in the rainy dark,
Knocked one of two black men walking into a field.
This one had been knocked into a tree in the park,
And the other one came flying through the windshield!

Sheriff Blue heard the call and made it to the scene,
Where he found a Yankee feeling pretty upset.
"I know this looks strange but it was an accident,
Can you tell me how much time you think I can get?"

The sheriff scratched his head and said "Try to calm down,
This is something I can see is simple and clean.
I can charge the one in your car with B and E,
And charge the other black man with "Leaving the Scene!!"
