Your words thrust into my mind
like footsoldiers of an army possessed
worrying my conscience into a rewind
of ghastly memories now suppressed
Of ghosts who came, and went,
and bid their wish upon my tender being
I fought with my soul, bloody but unbent
blanking out the ugliness, totally unseeing
And now, I am happy, they say
in control of my destiny, oh yeah
but when we've made our love and it's no longer day
my nightmares begin, I'm left with nothing to wear
