Do I see?
Those ruby lips
Smiling welcome?
Or is it
The Rose Royal?
That adorns her hair,
Or maybe it is
That fluttering flag?
Which I so wish
To see flying high and proud,
(Or the blood of some accident victim?
Congealed on my city's roads;
Perhaps it is the solitary bud?
That one's beloved gifts,
Or it may be
A touch of hymeneal flow
On silken sheets.
This shapeless blot of ink
May well be
My Self
-- which has yet to find a shape!
The previous comment is right on. Odeee has a way with few words. Solitary statements paint pictures. They say "a picture is worth a thousand words." I find in the case of this author, he can paint a vivid picture with a phrase. His pictures are worth a million words. And yet, he pares them down to a precise minimum.
The more I read him, the more I discover! He delves deep and brings up solitaires from the motherlode of his emotions. Maria2934 has judged him well . . . incisive, straight and piercing, yet not crass!
of something so tender and sacred. I like your ideas here and the way you expressed one in particular without being nasty or crass...( is that redundant?) anyway, I did read this several times, its pretty good!!
