The memory of a touch,
Lingers on my skin.
It’s not quite real
But yet, not imagined.
It haunts me oh so much.

The memory of a scent,
Inhaled within my soul.
It wafts and lifts
Above the breeze,
Fading like time we spent.

The memory of a voice,
Murmuring in the dark.
Inaudible tones
I strain to hear.
It beckons – I have no choice.

The memory of a taste,
Savors on my tongue.
Oh, how I crave
Your new, sweet wine.
A hunger I can’t erase.

The memory of a lover,
Seen in my soul’s mind’s eye.
Fading quickly
From my sight.
Visions yearned to rediscover.

My soul cries out in longing.
My senses inadequate to discern.
Intercessor, please
Come rescue me.
Come save me from myself.

The memory of a touch,
The memory of a scent,
The memory of a voice,
The memory of a taste,
The memory of a lover . . .
