Winter deepens
Short days yield quickly to long nights
Lights twinkle brightly on every house
Reflecting off the snow in spacious yards
Colorful paper is crammed into trash bins
Up and down every city street
Carolers put away their anthems
To pull out Auld Lang Syne

Out in the country
The house is warm
Despite the fierce cold
Beyond the windows
She curls up nude beside the fire
The smell of her hair
Hints of wood smoke and shampoo

She gives herself to him freely
Excited by the loss of control
Proving her strength
By surrending her will

The fire crackles and pops
Louder than the ratchet and click
Of the theatrical handcuffs
She attached to her wrists

Trees shiver beneath icicles
Barren of leaves
Burdened by the cold
But she shivers in warmth
Her rich heart
Eager to discover what he has planned next

She drips her womanly scent
Never knowing what to expect
Thrilling
With each new discovery
Each new extension of her sexual boundaries

Her role is easy,
To play along
She needn't think
When in his arms
Her trust is absolute,
Well-founded

She welcomes
Each new experience
Forcing him to conjure up
Ever greater pleasures
Every time they join their games

On grandfather clock and calendar
The hands are nearly vertical
Soon even the old songs will be retired
For another year

She wears no blindfold
On this special occasion
She watches with him
Classic television,
Traditional fireworks,
Festivities from hundreds of miles away

The grandfather clock
Rings out eleven chimes
"One hour," he whispers

He pulls her to her knees
"One final gift for the year, my pet"

The snow resumes its stately descent
The distant road is quiet,
Traffic suspended as if by magic
Respecting their privacy
This special night

Around her neck
He places
A choker of sleigh bells
Raucus when in motion,
The leather and buckles
More symbols of servitude

He stretches out on the thick carpet
She falls crossways upon him
Engulfing his manhood with her mouth
While he reaches to probe
The moist recesses of her womanhood

The world continues
Its public celebration
They watch TV
She slowly bobs her head
Pacing herself
Her excitement growing
With each new exploration
His fingers in her body
His free hand in her hair

Each jingle of activity
Reminds her again
Of her voluntary submission

The time approaches
For her
For him
For the crowd in Times Square

When cheers erupt from the screen
She gulps down his sweetness
Sleighbells ring violently
With her simultaneous climax
Coaxed from his loving caress

Together
They ring in the new year
Then lie briefly sated
Her lips still snug
Around his softening member
Her body still quivering
From the comfort of his nearness
Their hearts still entwined
Their vows renewed

With each new milestone
Measured by calendar
And grandfather clock
They play their games
Demonstrate their love
Give to the other
What they each crave
