Smoking

Smoke churls out of my
mouth as I take a
drag it gives me
not peace not angst
it takes me to a
place without despair
a place that is
null and void
a place that only
exists with a
clove in my hand
and smoke wrapping
around my fingers
Almost if I cease
to exist nothing
would change except
my smoke would
not fill the air.
