Sunshine hits my back,
while sounds of town roll round.
Gentle crickets chrip,
everyone makes a sound.
People walk right by,
cars zoom along real fast,
and I just sit and think
of the peace that seldoms last.
Birds chirp in my trees
squirrels jump and prance.
Everybody moves
to their own form of dance.
Wind stirs the pages
of paper that lies here,
as I take a moment
and feel your presence near.
Bicycles peddle by
as mom and baby stroll.
Each one looking forward
no one growing old.
Smells of flowers touch
the senses of my mind.
Bringing forth a scent
that help us all unwind.
Children play and call
each other they do seek.
Neither understanding
that nature's life is weak.
Teach them to appreciate
what we adults don't do.
Show them God's true treasures,
the way he wants us to.
Hold them close and whisper
words about the past
tell them a great secret
our World is fading fast.
When you tell them this,
take the time to see,
that not only will they learn
but so could you and me.
