Our dear president's astray.
If you think the cause is freedom,
Try a day without a dollar.
It's the color of your collar
That tells us who you are.
You bet your lucky star,
We don't need a caste system
In Americar.
Are you working
for the man?
Yes? Good.
You're distracted
From the plan.
Busy making ends meet
For a living so your kids eat.
Keeping up Americana,
Everything the kids wanna,
The traditions, the vacation,
The TV and education.
Staying focused on the dream,
Given to you by the cream
Of the crop.
That's right, keep your head down.
Do not look around.
We'll tell you what to see
And supply a commentary.
Who has time for conspiracies
And everybody's theories
When it's hard to just get by.
And that's how they missed
Hitler's Big Lie.
All of us,
Together now,
Our numbers make us stronger.
We can stand in truth for longer.
Let's open our eyes,
Open our hearts

Open our ears.
We are one world,
One Earth
One complex,
Organic unit.
Money doesn't grow on trees
But food and shelter do.
What are we doing?
It's time to
rethink civilization.

Remecover 10 years agoI would tend to agree that the rant would be stronger if aimed more at the lack of unity other than the way both parties seem to be trying to shaft anyone in the middle class or lower.
Angelineover 10 years agobut one I happen to agree with. There's a lot of truth in your poem. I was listening to some story on the news recently about how great it is that America is becoming a manufacturing country again. All I could think was yes, like all the other countries where people can be hired and worked to death for next to nothing. My father was a union man and made a decent working class wage. My kids? They won't do as well as he did.
As to the Syria thing I can only quote on of my favorite songs: "War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothin!"

Kiki_catover 10 years agoAuthorHaving invested alot of time researching and thinking into the world's most pressing issues (violence, war, poverty), and being a cleric myself (yes, its true, and my activities here have been vetted by my higher ups - I have only the guideline to stay away from darker material, which is my preference anyway) , I think the answer lies in divesting the uber-rich from their excess and re-allocating that money to help the destitute and create new infrastructures and programs to faciltate equal opportunity for all. Just today, Swiss banks announced they will reveal the names of US clients who have avoided billions in taxes. http://rt.com/business/swiss-banks-disclose-assets-196/. It is this kind of greed that is one of our key issues. Money beyond a certain point becomes pure power and leverage. I object to power gained through financial dynasties and the laws that allow such inheritance to happen. I'm not against wealth, I'm against obscene wealth being used for unenlightened purposes. All this needs to be cleaned up. If we could do it, there would be enough for everyone. I am trying to stay positive and in a problem-solving mode as I see hell everywhere increasing all around me. It's like we live in a bubble here in the USA, and it feels stretched to bursting.
erectus123over 10 years agogood political savy, derivative Marxist commentary but as the USA becomes corporate on all levels everyone "is" working for the man and hardly a living wage in many corporate part time areas such as the fast food and restaurant jobs in general.
