The signs of summer
Has been fading away
For the warmth of the sun
Has lessened each day

The mornings are brisk
While the nights host a chill
And the last part of summer
Has now become real

For all those beach parties
And cookouts we knew
Have now sizzled down
To a handful or two

And as leaves start to change
We know Autumn is near
It's just a matter of time
Before trees become bare

Soon the year will be gone
As Winter grows close
And all our summertime fun
Will be summertime ghost

So if you haven't indulged
To all you can bear
Remember these words
There's always next year
