I’m needing direction.
I’m wanting to tango
Please pardon inflection.
You see, I’ve walked circles,
Forever, it seems.
I’d so like to dance
Full circumference, as deemed.
I dared dream the tango.
I confess you were there.
To submit to that tempo
Is something I’d dare.
Is it possible I read
Too much into your ad?
Your sign said, “Free Lessons”
Did you mean that….my bad?
I am certain I saw it
Blinking, lights, as I slumbered.
Now, is that free of charge?
Did you mean unencumbered?
Whatever the case
I will come to you freely,
I will pay with submission.
No problem. Please! Really!!!!
Can you teach me to tango?
Oh, Sir, will you please?
Take the beat of my soul
Move me to your needs?
You will find me quite able
I am a quick student
You need only to guide me
With rules, I am prudent.
My, your movements are practiced
Your tempo is grand
This is far more than imagined…
Sir! Please, May I stand??!
I’m afraid I must pause
Your instruction, I mean.
Is that allowed, once begun?
So much to be gleaned.
I’d no idea, Sir
That the tango was deep
You’ve touched things protected
Things unbothered, and steep.
I only meant to learn just a bit
To tango and move
Outside circles,
As fit.
Might you tell me, now, Sir?
As I breathe and relax
Might we do this again?
How shall I react?
Your lessons are needed
Your dominance, too
I cannot imagine
Dancing anywhere new.
Very well, do control me
Sir, tango with this…
I’ll be back when you need
Or come find ME if I’m missed!

Author's Comments on "Teach Me To Tango"
This poem was written in the summer of 2006. It is a self realization that thinking outside the box may be well worth the risk of being considered taboo. It is about seizing the moment and living it from the core, outward!

Any old time you want to come back ~ I'm here. A woman who graciously agrees to be lead.
