Who is this beast, the beast inside of me?
Where did he come from how can this be?
This beast who lurks deep in the dark
Who tears at my soul leaving his mark
He sits and watches from deep within
always ready to strike yet again
Awaiting in the darkness for the next unaware
reaching and pulling each back to its lair
the game is afoot again yes it is true
each step brings you closer, what do you do?
To contain the beast and keep it inside,
leaves no other choice but to run and hide
I have to control it to keep the world from harm
from the people in the city to those on the farm

Unwelcome Guest...

Perhaps there's a little beast in all of us. This plaintive plea for a solution to contain it ~ concludes there is no choice but to ~ to run and hide.
