Thumbs massage nerve endings in palms
A smile is formed
Temperatures rise
A look is shared

A question in wait is finally asked
Truths are hard
Their world shrinks
Truths are spoken

Words breathed not spoken forshadow coming events
The eyes reject all shame
A venue is changed
The smile becomes sinister

Lies are attempted to preserve the innocence
A wall comes down
Two souls finally introduced
A blanket sits between them

A heart begins to race
And time stands still.
