The hush falls against the street below

Moonlight touching clouds above

All alone in secrecy she awaits...

Melancholy but eagerly anticipating her love

Tears Fall, salt mingled with sweet liquor

A hand cups salvation, small pearls against a palm

Swallow them like pride and pain

Dear woman, turn up the bottle and find calm

Turn down the bedding and lie in peace

Shed a tear for regrets, and sleep

Soon the tall man in black will hold you

A long desired embrace, you are his to keep

When pale light erupts into the room

You found what you thought a beautiful sight

Drawing your knees up to your chest

To your disappointment, it was the morning light

The promises and desire echo and fade to tears

To your sorrow you realize, just like any other guy

My dear woman, even Lord Death himslef,

Snubbed you and chose to pass you by.
