I should be taken now.
While, still I cling -
Albeit, somewhat tenuously -
To the shuddering vine.

Pluck me, briskly.
Save me and
Redeem me.

I should be tasted now.
While there remains
Some remnant of the
Ripe about me.

Before decay sets in.
Before I lose my grip.
And tumble from the tree.
Condemned to rot.

Forbidden fruit.

While I wait.
While you prevaricate.
I waste.

There is no dignity
In nature's ways.
And little space for vanity.
Let's take what time we have.
And use it,
Gloriously.
