The raindrops hit the window pane,
shattering,like tiny beads of glass.
They rip into my thoughts,
cutting them into memories of the past.
Oh, what I wouldn't give to feel the
gentleness of your touch;
Feel the warmth of your eyes
providing me with a crutch
As my heart beats wildly
within my aching chest,
To be comsumed by the desire you feel,
blocking out all the rest
of my surroundings.
But, alas I feel I can never truely have
this dream I have of you;
The distance is too great,
the meetings are too few.
But to hold thee in my arms just once
before you slip away
Steadfastly into the night,
to leave me within the grey-
That would be the greatest gift of all,
and fill my heart with ease
As you lay beside me in the glow of our love,
the night's gentle breeze
of contentment.
