I stand in darkness, my cheeks aglow,
Knowing that tomorrow will dawn grey.
Still yet, this night wears a sombrero.

Bright music wafts through the palm tree grove,
So, closing my eyes, I slowly sway.
I stand in darkness, my cheeks aglow.

Demons tempt me to just let go
And my mind overflows with decay,
Still yet, this night wears a sombrero.

Looking back on deeds filled with sorrow,
Heart heavy with the 'membrance of pain,
I stand in darkness, my cheeks aglow.

Hot tears coat the shaky breath I blow,
Whispered curses haunt me as I pray...
Still yet, this night wears a sombrero.

Music lifts me from the hell below,
My thoughts are scattered in disarray.
I stand in darkness, my cheeks aglow.
Still yet, this night wears a sombrero.
