Cut sharp and fast
the proposal was placed on the table
between melting chocolate
and a sip of sex on the beach
he invited me to become
a service girl
with wide eyes,
wider legs
and in wild need
he failed to notice
my wiped away smile.

Just like that
I could have,
but I choked
on the reality
of his words.
