------------------------------

Love can hurt
And love can heal.
Sometimes it's fake
And sometimes real.

When love's untrue
It's such a sin,
For it turns you inward
To hide within.

But when love is true
It makes you strong,
And nothing in life
Seems to go wrong.

It gives you hope
And inspiration,
To share your love
And your devotion.

All that surrounds you
Is surely all aglow,
And if time don't stop
It definitely goes slow.

And when life is filled
With undying love,
You sure to thank
The Lord above.

True love had come
Of this I did feel
But it turned out
To be unreal.

It lingered a while.
But then was gone,
And then all it was,
Was like the evening sun.

It slowly died
And faded away,
And there I was.
What could I say?

I turned away
To run and hide,
And cover up
What I felt inside.

But as I turned,
With weeping eyes
I looked once more
At the darkening skies.

And to my utter surprise,
In the darkness, I saw a spark
And somehow I knew
It would leave its mark.

That spark was of love
That emitted from you.
And as you came closer
Life started anew.

You made me feel
Like I was whole,
But how you did it
I do not know.

And you guided me back
To where I am now,
And gave me courage
As you caressed my brow.

You touched my heart
And set it free,
And once again
So happy I'll be.
