upon the threshold of a brave new world
stands a woman whispered with mist
her arms quietly at her sides
she feels the warmth of her protector close by
she need not reach for him
for he is there beside her, inside her
heart cradled softly in his gentle hands
auburn hair silken
on shoulders white as the snow capped peaks
from which she has journeyed
his lips seek the hollow of her throat
tasting salty dew
a gift from the sea
their hearts beat to the song of the dove
in this quiet moment of certainty
