She faces the world with an empty stare
With walls behind her eyes
She wears the mask of a painted fool
Performing for a prize

Round and round she goes in dizzy rings
Careening like a top
A lurid show for your amusement
Until the curtain drops

Her walls are crumbling, her paint is chipped
Brittle as all things are
But the world's a stage for bawdy plays
And she its whoring star

Nicely done,, VixenEllie. I thought the first two lines effectively set the tone. "Walls behind her eyes" and "spiing top" strong images IMO; mixed feelings about "painted fool"
