WALLS
Walls of stone, walls of time,
Walls in the soul or just in the mind,
Vast, unyielding, even if we can't see,
For walls are there if made only of memory.
Impenetrable by force and logic can't span,
Broached by the simple reach of a hand,
A simple invitation, "Come, walk with me",
Is often all it takes for us to see.
That we need not live behind a wall,
That at times looks so wide and tall,
But can seek and find the magic door,
That leads us to freedom and light once more.
The door that is opened when we choose to share,
And allow ourselves to see it is alright to care,
Both I for someone and someone for me,
Then we turn, and look, and the wall has nowhere to be.
