Pop rock poet,
It's painful to read you
Trying to make a flame
From the ashes of someone elses witticisms.
Your words often gasp from trying so hard,
At other times sitting proud,
A well written regurgitation.

Yes, you write well,
A + + and a gold star for you!
But there's a difference you see?
Or maybe you don't.
It's the difference between store bought pearls
And a single-breath dive to the bottom of the ocean.
The difference between a horizontal and a vertical slice.
Poets are born, Baby, not made.

You're just a Wanna Be ,
An Ain't Gonna Be,
Roll the bones and read the future,
Going to end in this life a Never Was.
You suck your teeth and ask "Who are you?"
You want to know who I am ?
Why,
I am nobody, who are you?
Think you can be a nobody too?
Think again.

Hey u Stephen Kings out there! Take this!!

My god this is the best poem yet on all those skin suckers and word thieves and pop tart would be wanna be somebodys cause they gotta be a big SOMEBODYS cause they got the name they are born with and they are entitled to it by fiat because they are their inimitable selves. Churchill: "Don't give me facts, I want the truth." Is what this wonderful alive electric poem says to me. Its complex as the others and here its rich with its own kind of wit, its own putting down the ones who go thru life putting ppl down. Its a ringing song, and it is true to the tone the tune of a rich vibrant talent. Bravo! No strait lines, no cheap pearl earrings--SoshiSed wants to dive to the bottom of an ocean to get a real one. And returned to the surface with a genuine one of a kind original--look in the mirror, it's you SoshiSed

"...the difference between store bought pearls and a single-breath dive to the bottom of the ocean, the difference between a vertical and horizontal slice"

i like these lines a lot. they make the poem very visual. both comparisons conjure physical reaction. i could feel an impulse to gasp when i read the line about diving for pearls, and a reflexive wince at the mention of slices.

you should cut this pop rock poet some slack. maybe not Shakespeare, but certainly not a nobody : )
