I seldom give anything.
All I do is take and take some more.
I’m self-centered, ungenerous, unkind.
I spend my cash on myself.
I drink my wine until I’m drunk.
I don’t believe in mercy fucks.
I don’t walk in other’s shoes.
I babble on about my life
but never ask what’s going on in yours.
But I dream the dreams that you forgot
and swallow every drop of pain you push.
I arrange your quiet loneliness
like an objet d’art on my bookshelf.
I proudly wear your desperation
like a cumstain on my new blouse.
I frame your hard won victories
like masterworks on my bare walls.
I never brush away your kisses
and send you home to your missus-
I’ll take everything you can give
but I can’t give you the courage to live.

Courage....

....One man's/woman's dose of courage can be another's double dose of cowardice. Nicely written and appreciated! QQ
