"What do you need?"

"Does it really matter at this point?"

"Yes."

"Listen, I've got to go. I'll just do the summary on my own," I told him, picking it up off of the floor. I purposely didn't answer his question because we both knew what the answer was—I needed him.

"How about this- I'll make the rest of the corrections tonight and we can go over them after school tomorrow?" He asked.

"Why don't you just email me the corrections and I'll correct it on my own time?" His face fell noticeably; I had seen what he was trying to do. I was weak wherever he was involved, and he saw that. Dr. Allen was just trying to get me alone again so that I would change my mind. I handed him the summary.

"Goodbye," I told him, wanting so badly to kiss him, knowing that if I did that would be the end, and everything I had worked to put up in the past five minutes for boundaries would be demolished. Everything. Knowing that, I turned on my heels, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and walked out the door, leaving him staring at me as I walked out with an astounded look on his face, holding my half-corrected summary in his hand.
