"Here we go," said Chuck.

Matt thought about what he had seen that night when he looked at her in the car park.

"She didn't do it," said he.

"She pointed a gun at your head and tried to make barbecue out of you."

"Yeah," said Matt, "And I'm gonna find out who forced her to!"

Erm ...

"How safe are the good people of London with this killer shooting people in their own homes?" asked the reporter.

Then in the third paragraph after that:

"We were willing to dispatch the INTERPOL's finest detectives to apprehend the perpetrator. Unfortunately they are all currently occupied in another pressing matter," said the Chief, "Nevertheless; we still have two fine young detectives that will not relent until this murder is solved."

Erm. This may be news to you, but London has its own London Metropolitan Police, aka "Scotland Yard" {look it up on google}. The rest of Great Britain also has police departments for its cities and other local jurisdictions.

Interpol is an international umbrella police organization with member departments from a couple hundred countries that provides services and coordination for multi-national actions by member departments, but would not be involved in a one-off case, whether or not the individuals assigned were "blithering idiots."

Sorry, but my "willing suspension of disbelief" can be very loose, particularly for a good story that hooks me instantly. But before I finished the first page of this story, you had taken it to the breaking point.

Good luck on your next story.
