All Comments on 'Educating Shannon'

What this character (Shannon) lacked was the proper buildup. What the previous comments marked was the same thing I picked up on - what bothered me most. Shannon never truly redeemed herself. We didn't see or get a sense of her changing (emotionally or psychologically) to the point where the hero (I still don't know what his name is) would be acceptably enticed to take her back. He exhibited weakness through the majority of the story with just being willing to get her in the sack instead of really making her aware of the hurt she caused him. He was the proverbial doormat.

I don't know if this is an earlier work, but it lacks the worldliness that you exhibited in the Damp Gray and Wish series. Although there are always cases where redemption could be considered (again the Gray series could have been one). This wasn't one

The sex was fairly well done, but at some points, I was spending more time trying to envision the position than enjoying the acts being portrayed. I think I have that problem with my writing, giving too much detail and then hoping it reads smoothly.

I want to say more, but I think I'd be getting nit-picky. It's a good try, but not one of your better ones.

I'm not against a BTB tale, where the storyline and character development shows it to be appropriate. But I also enjoy characters that undergo redemption, if the author "sells" me on the change in that person. Those who want to make comments to any story that doesn't follow their preferred arc like "story sucked, once a cheater always a cheater, case closed" are usually anon, too gutless to post under even an assumed id. I don't see any constructive dialog being likely with those who are stupid enough to think that the world is composed of one two categories of people: 1) Those completely pure as the driven snow, never erring, and 2) Those who are devils in human flesh, incapable of any change for the better.

That said, past behavior is the best clue to future behavior. The posts of some who think Erik shouldn't trust her have a point. But I think they probably read too much into the last sentence, "I suddenly had the feeling this was going to work out just fine." I read that as a way for Rehnquist to succinctly close the story with an indication that Erik is willing to cautiously let Shannon go through that process of persuading him over time, by her behavior, that she really has changed. One could read it differently, but I think the whole of the story, and particularly the discussion just above, lends itself to this reading.

I hope none of these prattling refugees from the Loving Wives category ever betray anyone: financially, spirituality, emotionally or (especially) sexually.

They sure as hell have foreclosed any hope of compassion or mercy for themselves, just based on their own oft-repeated judgments.

This was a solid story.

My second time reading this. A truly wonderful, albeit unusual, story. Five stars.

I won't go into detail, I just want to say that I loved this story (I love happy endings) and only hoped that Shannon would come around. Yes, it is just a story but a great one. For those that say negative things about it, that's your privilege, I just don't understand you. To each his own. I loved it and I read for entertainment. I don't care for BDSM but this was done tastefully (if it ever can be that way) and I did not object. Thank you for writing.

and I liked it even more the second time. There were alot of details here that you presented just right, it was very satisfying to witness her falling in love with him again. Interesting how this time, I was more aware of the holes in the plot you left, (pressumably on purpose?), allowing for trouble ahead down the road as if you had intended to continue the storyline of these two. What are the problems associated with fucking Rebecca, the law partner? How well could he adapt to and accept her kids? Would she, in time, want to keep pushing the envelope sexually? If so, would it present other problems? I liked how you wrote this story making us like her, the idea that the selfish self-serving bitch can finally realize the error of her ways, and submit to the idea of someone elses happiness before her own. But, as it was only after she won her case, and fared better in the divorce than she had feared (getting what she wanted first), how likely that this new UNselfish Shannon will stick around?? I think Eric is taking a huge risk, but as long as he has Becca the fuck buddy as a back-up, maybe it WILL work out. I don't see you returning to these characters for a followup, but I guess the point of this comment was to let you know that you did a good enough job here that it would be possible, and appreciated. This story was extremely erotic which only underpinned the elephant in the room. Erik was in love with Shannon and he never quite got over her. Shannon was not aware of what love was but learned Erik could be quite the instructor to her body but more importantly her soul. This story wreaked with deep overtones masked by erotic bliss masterfully assembled by a true artist. The story was moving and it had me searching in the folds of my own loves of past and rocked me. What more could anyone want from a story? This is amazing. Thank you!

Very well written and developed. I enjoyed this story immensely. I have a love/hate feeling about the happy ending, but this was a great read.

I really enjoyed how much time you took for Shannon to come around. It made it much more believable when she finally asked to be with him again. Everything else was solidly written, and worthy of a story I'd want to read again.

With him wanting to get payback on his ex-fiancee and stretching his ethics to do so , protecting a man who subscribes to kiddie porn and is arrogant enough to be an actual child molester... protecting this man just to squeeze more money out of him is beyond fucked up.

It's also concealing evidence of an ongoing felony, and sure as hell is not covered by any client confidentiality privileges.

I have read similar stories with more harsher endings. While they do me when I'm feeling down, I actually dislike the ones where the girl ends up as slave or is damaged too badly. This is something that I like much MUCH more because it doesn't involve rape, and the girl could have walked away, even if it meant losing her cause. The story has a good ending, and I get the feeling that the protagonist can live without guilt at the end and he can have his girl too. I am getting the feeling that even though he was rejected by her at the start of the story, he still held a candle for her, and that's why he worked so hard to become a success and didn't date any other girls. All the more power to him! It is a good plot for some soft revenge; thanks for writing!

I really liked the twists and turns of this story. The sex scene with Rebecca was hot. These characters are well developed enough to merit a second chapter.

At the beginning, I thought this might be just another "getting revenge on the ex" story, albeit a very well-written one. But it became so much more, truly an awakening for both of them! (And for Rebecca, as well :) I secretly hoped for the romantic ending, but didn't think I'd get it. And then, even that was not only believable, but HOT! Great job!

Like many others here, absolutely loved Rebecca. Good choice leaving her out at the end, because Rebecca's part of the firm/family anyway. Let them live happily ever after. No need for a continuation or even a spin off.

After many months, I am finally starting to find stories with length, attention to detail and relationships that are believable. I love a story that causes me to deposit tears on my keyboard.

I would like to find out what happens with Rebecca. She is intriguing. This might be a person who allows you to write a spin off or a continuation to this already great story. The only faults I could find were minor, and mostly grammatical such as spelling, and the use of words that sound the same but have different meaning. I also found some of the conversation was confusing. Who said what to whom?

Keep up the good work and don't rely so much on the "spill chick" function.
